National Wrestling Superstars Internet News Update For Week Of 4/19

A Successful Three-Show Weekend, The Nigerian Nightmares Continue To Dominate & Will Have Their First NWS Title Opportunity, The 2010 Chris Candido Memorial J-Cup Is Announced, And More

Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what's happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation's leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Results From Last Weekend:

NWS returned to Holy Family Parish Hall in Carteret, NJ on Friday night, April 16 for their annual Spring event and the crowd was very enthusiastic and totally entertained by the stars of NWS, which explains why they continue to promote more than 50 shows per year making them the true leader in pro wrestling today.
  • Match #1 - NWS Cruiserweight title bout: Former champion JD Smoothie found himself in a somewhat unusual setting as the fans were cheering him from the time he entered through the curtain. This was his chance at a rematch against current champion Joey Janela and it seemed like with the crowd behind him, he might have succeeded, but as they say you can't change a leopard's spots as at the 12 minute mark, Smoothie found a chain and used it on Janela. The referee counted 1-2-3 and awarded the belt to Smoothie, but as he was celebrating, the ref noticed the chain hanging from his tights and revered the decision giving the decision to Janela who retained his title.
  • Match #2: This was a return grudge match between Indian Chief Draven and bad boy Jack Spade. Spade came to ringside with manager Danny Demanto and The Commandos. Draven, not liking his odds, went to Commissioner Gino Moore who immediately sent The Commandos back to the locker room area. Further, he allowed Draven to have a manager who singled out Carteret's own Fireman Joe Davis to watch his back. Despite the balance with two managers, Danny managed to get his shots in and help Spade get the win over the popular Draven.
  •
  • Match #3: Tag-team explosion pitting the unlikely team of The Illegal Out Of Space Alien (who provided ring announcer Dapper Johnny Falco with a government-issued Green Card) and his partner from the corner of Hollywood and Vine, Dazzling Divine, as they took on the undefeated team known as The Nigerian Nightmares (who also had Danny Demanto in their corner). Divine and the Alien held their own against the Nightmares for the first two thirds of the bout, but thanks to Danny and the lovely Voodoo Princess Sheeta, the Nigerians continued their winning ways. After the match, The Commandos ran in to beat down on Divine and the Alien, but the Jock Mafia ran out as these teams battled it out and finally Rikishi, came to clear the ring and save the duo from further destruction.
  • Match #4: This was a 3 way dance between up and coming star "Too Hot" Steve Scott, Nick Talent and one half of the NWS Tag-Team champions Corvis Fear. All three wrestlers seemed to be having fun in the ring and accepting the fans cheers. After ten minutes, Fear pinned Nick Talent and two minutes later eliminated Scott for the win.
  • Match #5: This was a tag team grudge match as both teams have battled each other for nearly 6 months as The Commandos (Nicky Oceans & Kevin Matthews) took on Chris D'Andrea and Mike Dennis, who are known as the Jock Mafia. Lots of high flying as the Jock Mafia flew up over and around the ring on the Commandos, but it was the agility of Nicky Oceans and the size and strength of Kevin Matthews who kept this team in check as both teams eventually battled and brawled all around the building before being counted outside of the ring and the referee declaring a double countout.
  •
  • MAIN EVENT: Former WWE star known in the rings as Rikishi, with Carteret manager Fireman Joe Davis took on "The Cold Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto who had Voodoo Princess Sheeta as his manager. Sheeta was a major influence in the match as she distracted the former WWE star several times but in the end, the former TV star prevailed and even gave Demanto his patented Stinkface in the corner much to the delight of the fans.
Marking their 10th anniversary in Tower City, NWS crew and management packed up their ring and went to this rural Pennsylvania town on Saturday night, April 17th and had a packed gymnasium at Williams Valley High School who come year after year to see the leader in family-themed pro wrestling excitement, National Wrestling Superstars.
  • Match #1: Manual "Manny" Moore, who in a recent interview promised to step up his game did just that as he took on and defeated the mysterious Soul Asssassin in a fast-paced opening contest that saw lots of high flying action.
  • Match #2: NWS Cruiserweight Title bout pitting current champ Joey Janela against local star Unbreakable Andy. Janela was accompanied to ringside by former cruiserweight champion J.D. Smoothie who vowed to protect Janela until NWS promoters gave him his rematched.  Janela and Andy both played to the crowd and were matched evenly until the evil manager pulled Janela to the floor. While the referee was attending to the champion, Smoothie went in and hit a DDT on Andy (who wasn't so unbreakable), threw Janela back into the ring and saw the referee count 1-2-3.  Janela, unaware of what happened, helped Andy to his feet only to have both of them clotheslined by Smoothie who was laughing all the way to the locker room.
  •
  • Match #3: Former WWE TV stars "America's Hero" The Patriot and The Famous Clown took on two NWS champions in the likes of Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and the Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc. As extra "security", Havoc and Oceans enlisted Oceans' sometimes tag partners The Commandos to be at ringside to watch their backs. That was the added insurance they needed as both Havoc and Oceans were able to stand toe to toe with The Patriot and Clown (thanks to the outside help of course). After nearly 12 minutes, all heck broke loose as The Commandos went into the ring and made it a 4 on 2 beatdown on The Patriot and Clown, and were soon joined by J.D. Smoothie. Security was in the ring and thrown out as well until former WWE stars Rikishi and Samu came to the ring and made the save. They then told Commissioner Gino Moore that they wanted a match against The Commandos (Danny Demanto and Kevin Matthews) and Gino told fans they were in for a treat as this was the first time in many years that these two had teamed together and they got their wish in the main event.
  •
  • Match #4: The undefeated Nigerian Nightmares defeated B. Fehrm and the Illegal Out Of Space Alien when Commissioner Gino Moore threw in the towel and stopped the match because of the beating Fehrm had taken. The local first aid squad tried to take Fehrm out on the stretcher only to be attacked further by The Nightmares.
  • Match #5: JD Smoothie took on Aaron Arbo in a number-one contender's match for the NWS Cruiserweight Title. Smoothie thought he had everything in hand until out of nowhere can Unbreakable Andy who hit Smoothie behind the refs back allowing Arbo to score the pin and the win.
  •
  • Match #6: The former WWE team known as The Headshrinkers (Rikishi and Samu) took on the Commandos, and what a match it was, with power and size by both teams keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. For a while it even looked as though The Commandos had the Samoan team's number but at the end, Rikishi and Samu secured the victory and even gave Demanto a stink face for good measures.
With two weeks to go until their biggest show of the year, "Funk-A-Mania VII", the stars of Funkdafied Wrestling Federation, the Delaware-based affiliate of the Northeast's leading family-friendly promotion National Wrestling Superstars, apparently could not wait that long, and got together for a "Road To Funk-A-Mania" show on Sunday afternoon April 18th at the Christiana, DE Fire Company Hall. A fair number of fans couldn't wait either, as a light but enthusiastic Sunday afternoon crowd came out to cheer on the action.
  • In the opening contest, "The White Urkel" B. Fehrm defeated Lumberjack Monroe. Lumberjack out-powered the smaller Fehrm earlier on. Later in the match, out came Fehrm's former tag-team partner who had turned on him at the last show, "Black Atlas" Cocky Johnson (as the former "Fro Bro" T.R. Sparks was now calling himself), who jumped up onto the ring apron and attempted to distract. But Fehrm had apparently done his homework (the good student that he is!) and shoved Lumberjack into Johnson, knocking Johnson off the apron and allowing Fehrm to hit his "Algebra Drop" on the stunned Lumberjack followed by the three-count.
  • Former FWF Heavyweight Champion Johnny Maxx came to the ring, returning to FWF after an absence of many months. He greeted the cheering fans, and announced that he was glad to be back, and was going to get rid of the "trash" that had accumulated in FWF during his absence.
  •
  • In a three-way battle of top cruiserweights, J.D. Smooth and Mighty Mikey Pacifica and The Soul Assassin fought to a time-limit draw. The fans were treated to high-flying and hard-hitting action for the full ten-minutes, but as Pacifica was covering Smooth after hitting a flying splash on him, the bell rang indicating the time limit had expired. Despite the fans' plea for five more minutes, Smooth asserted that he was only paid for ten minutes and the fans didn't deserve any extra. NWS/FWF Commissioner Gino Moore said the fans deserved to see this match continue, so at Funk-A-Mania in two weeks, the three would battle again... this time for the vacant FWF Cruiserweight Title... and inside a fifteen foot high STEEL CAGE!
  •
  • Delaware's Wrestling Blue Hen Clucky McCluckerton defeated "Black Atlas" Cocky Johnson. The feathers were truly flying in this match as the plucky Clucky out-powered Johnson. Late in the match, B. Fehrm came out to ringside but did not enter the ring, and as Johnson was trading words with his former partner, Clucky scooped up Johnson into his "Rotisserie" (Airplane Spin) finisher, followed by the three-count.
  • In a four-on-one Handicap Match, the nearly five-hundred pound Dr. Ruthless defeated the foursome of "The Real Deal" Mike Goldstein & Manny Perez & Dillon & Slim Whiskey. The four FWF rookies did little to even budge Dr. Ruthless, much less actually knock him down, and Ruthless eventually avalanched the entire opposing team into the corner before flattening them with a splash and pinning them. As he was celebrating in the ring, Dark Karnival (Jo-Jo & Chio) ran into the ring and attacked him from behind. The attack was broken up by Ruthless' friends The Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu), and it took the entire FWF locker room to break up the two volatile teams, who apparently wanted to have at each other in the worst way. Commissioner Moore granted their wish and announced that the two teams would meet in the main event.
  •
  • The Funky White Boy won by disqualification over Wild Bill Wiles (with Ruff Ryder in his corner). The two opponents brawled on the inside and outside for several minutes. Wiles brought a steel chair into the ring, but he ended up gettiing drop-toe-holded onto it. After Funky put Wiles into a Camel Clutch (after Wiles had slapped the move on him earlier in the match), Ruff came into the ring and hit Funky with his chain, prompting the disqualification. Wiles and Ruff continued to beat down Funky until Johnny Maxx ran into the ring to break it up. He helped Funky to his feet, then shocked the fans by clotheslining him down and attacking him along with Wiles and Ruff. The officials broke up the attack, and Maxx seized the microphone and told the fans and Commissioner Moore that he was the first ever FWF Heavyweight Champion, a "legend in the making", and was sick of being ignored and forgotten about these past months. Commissioner Moore told him that if he wants to prove that he's a legend in the making, he'll give him a real legend to fight at Funk-A-Mania, none other than former WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana! Commissioner Moore also announced that Funky and Wiles would have a rematch at Funk-A-Mania, for the vacant FWF Heavyweight Championship. When Maxx protested that he was not included in the match, Commissioner Moore said that if Maxx could defeat Santana, he would get the first title shot against the new champion, but if he interfered in the match in any way, he would be suspended indefinitely.
  •
  • The main event match between The Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu, with manager Voodoo Princess Sheeta) and Dark Karnival (Jo-Jo & Chio) was thrown out as a no-contest. The two teams picked up right where they left off on the last show, brawling before the introductions were completed, mostly outside the ring and using an assortment of chairs, tables, containers, and anything else they could get their hands on. After the two teams thoroughly beat down each other outside the ring, Jo-Jo and Chio cornered Princess Sheeta in the ring and crushed her in the corner, prompting the referee to ring the bell and throw out the match. The Nightmares saw their manager crumpled in the corner with referee Jimmy Dylan standing over her, and assumed that he was responsible, and attacked him with a Samoan Drop followed by a Nigerian Leg Roll. Commissioner Moore said that after two no-contests, he wanted this feud settled, and announced that the two teams would meet at Funk-A-Mania for the vacant FWF Tag-Team Titles, and something was heard about a "Nigerian Strap Match".

Nigerian Nightmares Continue To Dominate NWS - Will Get Their First Opportunity At Gold

The Nigerian Nightmares continued to dominate NWS and remained undefeated despite three challenges this weekend. On Friday night in Carteret, the Nightmares overcame the challenge of Dazzling Devine & The Illegal Space Alien. On Saturday night in Tower City, the Alien tried to go after The Nightmares again, this time with the plucky young Delaware rising star B. Fehrm as his partner, but The Nightmares literally made mincemeat out of the smaller Fehrm, working him over so devastatingly that Commissioner Gino Moore threw in the towel and halted the match to save Fehrm from permanent injury.

But on Sunday afternoon in Christiana, DE, the Nightmares may have met their equals as they took on FWF's dominant, and large in their own right, tag-team Dark Karnival in a rematch from January. The match was declared a no-contest as, just as in January, the referees still could not control these four behemoths. The two teams are on a collision course to settle their feud at Funk-A-Mania VII on May 2 in New Castle, DE, and as an added incentive to beat their opponents (as if these two teams needed any), it was announced that the winner of this match will claim the vacant FWF Tag-Team Titles. Will The Nightmares remain undefeated and capture their first titles under the NWS banner, or will Dark Karnival, who once held those very same belts and will do anything to get them back, be the team destined to hand The Nightmares their first defeat? For our fans who don't mind a little driving, this match alone would be worth the trip.

Rematch Of The 2010 J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament Finalists This Friday In Dunellen, NJ

In February, in Woodbridge, NJ, the undefeated Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu) and The Commandos ("Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews & "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans) met in the Finals of the 2010 Captain Lou Albano Memorial J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament. This match turned into a classic battle of size vs. skill, and The Commandos came ever so close to handing The Nightmares their first loss.
On Friday night April 23rd in Dunellen, NJ, these two teams will meet again in a long-awaited rematch, and both have vowed to put the issue, and their opponents, to rest once and for all. The Commandos have vowed to finish the job they started in Woodbridge by breaking the legs of The Nightmares, and The Nightmares  plan to literally have The Commandoes for lunch. Who will prevail? For the fans who witnessed their battle in Woodbridge, as well as those who only read about it, make sure you don't miss your chance to witness this epic rematch.

The J-Cup Is Coming... The J-Cup Is Coming!

The 2010 Chris Candido Memorial J-Cup, one of indy wrestling's most anticipated events, will take place on Friday night May 14th in Kenilworth, NJ at one of NWS' most popular Union and Essex County area venues, the Kenilworth Veterans Center.
As we all know, Chris was a beloved star of pro wrestling around the globe until his tragic death five years ago. As he had main-evented at NWS countless times in those final years, NWS renamed this tournament to honor his memory.
The choice of a Veterans Center to host this annual classic is definitely appropriate, as twelve veteran cruiserweight and junior heavyweight stars will come together for a one-night single-elimination tournament. And we are proud to announce the first four members of the class of 2010:
  • Ring Of Honor star Alex Payne
  • Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare
  • NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella
  • NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans
We will reveal four more names in next week's update.
For the heavyweights, they're not gonna get the night off... a selected group of them will compete in an over-the-top-rope Battle Royal, with the winner getting a special prize... a match that same night with former WWE TV superstar "The Ugandan Headhunter" Kamala!

NWS Upcoming Schedule

This Friday night April 23rd, NWS returns to Dunellen, NJ's Knights of Columbus Hall (647 Grove Street, just off Route 28 at Washington Avenue, minutes from I-287), with a 7:45pm bell time.

Fans of ECW are in for a real treat, as a pair of former ECW TV superstars will be headlining this event, in the form of hardcore icon John "Balls" Mahoney and the devious diva Dawn Marie. Also headlining this event is a rematch between the two top tag-teams in NWS, as the undefeated 800+ pounders The Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu) take on The Commandos ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & "Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews). Back in February in Woodbridge, these two teams battled in the Finals of the 2010 J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament, and while the Nightmares emerged victorious and remained undefeated, Matthews and Oceans gave them the fight of their lives and very nearly pulled off the upset. This Friday night in Dunellen, both teams feel they have something to prove, and it's shaping up to be a match for the ages.

In another tag-team grudge match, NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc and Jack Spade will be looking for revenge against the big man J.C. The Outpatient and his partner, Edison area newcomer and fan-favorite Jeff "Cannonball" Guererro. Last month in Edison, J.C. was teamed with Havoc and Spade against Cannonball and two of his friends, but when Havoc and Spade resorted to cheating, J.C. wanted no part of it, and he turned the tables on his partners and helped Cannonball get the victory. Also on the bill will be other regional and local pro mat stars such as NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella, Robert Pigeon, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto, and much more. Tickets are only $18 for adults and $16 for kids & seniors

This Saturday night April 24th, NWS heads south to Atco, NJ for their annual show at The Assumption School (2122 Cooper Rd, just off U.S. Route 30 at Route 73), with a 7:35pm bell time.

And the fans will be in for a treat as three (count 'em, three) former TV wrestling stars will headline this event, in the form of ECW and WWE diva Dawn Marie, former WWE Intercontinental & Tag-Team Champion and Hall-of-Famer "El Matador" Tito Santana, and the Philadelphia area's favorite son and former WWE & WCW TV superstar "America's Hero" The Patriot. Plus, there's rumored to be a Famous TV Wrestling Clown lurking around Atco, so watch out for pranks. There will also be plenty of regional and local pro mat stars, including another duo from the Philadelphia area, the 2010 J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament champions and undefeated 800+ pound duo The Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu), along with The Commandos ("Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews & "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans), NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella, Philadelphia's fighting warrior Devon Moore, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, and guest manager Atco's own Rocky Falco.
Tickets are only $18 for adults, $15 kids & seniors.

Friday night April 30th, NWS debuts at the Morris Knolls High School Gym, 48 Knoll Drive in Denville, NJ (just off Franklin Avenue and U.S. Route 46, minutes from Interstate-80), with a 7:45pm bell time.
A bevy of pro wrestling TV legends will be on hand... and when we say legends, we mean it. Topping the bill, making a rare north Jersey appearance, will be none other than the former WWE TV superstar and Native American Warrior Tatanka, who will definitely come ready for battle. He will be joined by two other WWE alumni in former Intercontinental & Tag-Team Champion and Hall of Famer "El Matador" Tito Santana and "America's Hero" The Patriot, plus the antics of The Famous TV Wrestling Clown.

There will also be NWS titles on the line in Denville. NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella will defend his title against not just one, but two contenders in a Triple-Threat Match, and both opponets are former champions to boot, "Mr. Entertainment J.D. Smoothie and Mighty Mikey Pacifica. Plus, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans will defend the title against north Jersey standout and former champion and former WWE developmental star Damian Adams. And NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc is also scheduled to make an appearance, but is "covering up" his intentions that night in Denville. In addition, plenty of regional and local pro mat stars will grace the ring in Denville including "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto, "Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews, Skitzo, The Mideast Bullies (Hasheem "Chemical" Ali & Saddam Insane), and more. Tickets are only $20 for a limited set of golden reserved ringside seats, $18 for open ringside seats, and $16 for bleacher seats.

Saturday night May 1st, NWS returns to its most popular (and most-often sold out) Jersey Shore venue, the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge (2491 Hooper Avenue, just off Route 70 at the Brick Plaza, minutes from the Parkway), with a 7:35pm bell time.
Topping the bill, making a rare Jersey Shore appearance, will be none other than the former WWE TV superstar and Native American Warrior Tatanka, who will definitely come ready for battle. He will be joined by two other WWE alumni in the beautiful diva Dawn Marie and the 7-foot-7 former Oddities member Giant Silva who will compete in a four-on-one "Gulliver's Travels" Match, where Silva's four seemingly Lilliputian-sized opponents will try to pin him inside a giant fishnet.

Also featured that night will be a tag-team rematch from last month's show in Point Pleasant, as The Illegal Outer Space Alien & G. Hadd will once again battle the Jersey Shore lunatic Slayer & Manuel Manny Moore. Last time out, all four men took the fight outside the ring, and were all counted out. This time, there will be no countouts... there must be a winner!
There will also be another unusual tag-team match as two teams, both of whom are despised by the fans, will battle each other, as The Commandos ("Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews & "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans) take on The Original Baghdad Bullies (Hasheem "Chemical" Ali & "The Evil American Turncoat" T.N.T).

Plus, WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage will defend her title against a yet-unnamed opponent, along with other regional and local pro mat stars including NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella, Mighty Mikey Pacifica, Ray-Ray Marz, "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto", Indian Chief Draven, A.C. Kewl, G-Fatal, and much more. All that and much more. Tickets are only $20 for adults and $18 for kids & seniors (and always sell out fast).

Sunday afternoon May 2nd, NWS heads down to link up with its Delaware affiliate Funkdafied Wrestling Federation for "FWF Funk-A-Mania VII" at New Castle, DE's Nur Shrine Temple (190 South Dupont Highway, along U.S. Routes 13 and 40, minutes south of I-295 and the Delaware Memorial Bridge), with a 3:00pm bell time.

This event will feature former WWE star "El Matador" Tito Santana. In addition, all of the currently vacant titles will be on the line in New Castle. The FWF Cruiserweight Title will be contested by no less that *THREE* contenders, J.D. Smoothie, Mighty Mikey Pacifica, and The Soul Assassin... and within the confines of a fifteen-foot-high STEEL CAGE! The undefeated Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu) will battle the team that has stood toe-to-toe with them as equals, Dark Karnival (Jo-Jo & Chio) for the FWF Tag-Team Titles. And Wild Bill Wiles will battle longtime FWF fan-favorite Funky White Boy for the FWF Heavyweight Title.
The card will also feature other favorite stars of FWF and NWS. (For information, or to order tickets, call the FWF box office at (302) 420-7287)

Friday night May 7th, NWS returns to one of its biggest venues, the Manville, NJ VFW Hall (600 Washington Avenue, just off South Main Street, minutes from Routes 22 and I-287), with a 7:45pm bell time.
A pair of TV wrestling legends will be in action together as former WWE superstar and master of the "Stinkface" Rikishi and the dancing former ECW icon The Blue Meanie will team up to take on the hated duo known as The Commandos ("The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto & "Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews).

But the fans are also talking about the first ever no-holds-barred Manville Street Fight that will take place between Rich "Ice-Pick" Lowinski, Indian Warrior Draven, Jack Spade, and Baghdad Bullies member Hasheem "Chemical" Ali. Not only is this match destined to be a classic street fight, what excites the fans even more is that they (the fans) will supply the weapons that the wrestlers will use that night (as long as they are legal and non-lethal weapons, of course).

In addition, NWS Jersey Shore Champion Myke "G.Q." Quest will defend his title against David Cole, and the undefeated 2010 J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament winners The Nigerian Nightmares (Maifi & Saifu) go up against the dangerous duo of "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Trent Acid.
And on the heels of the popular annual King And Queen Of The Ring Tournament, there will be an inter-gender tag-team matchup in Manville as "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie teams up with WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage to take on NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella & Tina SanAntonio. Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.

Saturday night May 8th, NWS makes its annual return to North Middletown, NJ's St. Catherine’s Church Gym (5 Shore Acres Avenue, just off Route 36, minutes from the Parkway), with a 7:35pm bell time.
The fans are certainly talking about the evening's main event, a special tag-team challenge match that will not be finalized until the night of the show. In one corner will be a pair of TV wrestling legends teaming up, in the form of former WWE superstar and master of the "stinkface" Rikishi and the dancing former ECW icon The Blue Meanie. In the other corner will be one of two tag teams, either the 800+ pound undefeated Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu), or the duo of former ECW and WCW star Julio Dinero & former WWE developmental star Pat Buck. Stay tuned for further developments.

But the fans are also talking about the Triple-Threat Ladders-Tables-And-Chairs Match that will feature a battle between three NWS champions and Bayshore area residents, as NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, and NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella battle not for titles, but for sheer supremacy (not to mention sheer survival).

A grudge match which has been brewing for months will finally come to a head in North Middletown, as referee-turned-wrestler and Bayshore area native Big Bill Mills will take on "The American Turncoat" T.N.T. As a referee, Mills was constantly being verbally and physically harassed by T.N.T for some time now, and in Keyport in February, T.N.T took out his frustrations at losing his match on Mills, and his own tag-team partner, Hazlet's "Outlaw" Shane O'Brien, who has been appointed as special guest referee for this match.
And on the heels of the popular annual King And Queen Of The Ring Tournament, there will be an inter-gender tag-team matchup in Manville as "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie teams up with WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage to take on Bayshore area native Skitzo & Tina SanAntonio. Tickets are only $20 for ringside seats and $18 for bleacher seats.

Friday night May 14th, NWS returns to the Kenilworth, NJ Veterans Center (33 South 21st Street, just off The Boulevard, minutes from the Parkway) for one of the biggests pro wrestling shows of the year, the "2010 Chris Candido Memorial J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament", with a 7:45pm bell time.

The J-Cup Tournament has been an annual wrestling event for over a decade. Five years ago, former wrestling great Chris Candido, who was a good friend and main eventer of NWS, passed away tragically and NWS renamed the tournament in his memory.

This event will bring twelve of the area's best cruiserweight, middleweight, and junior-heavyweight wrestlers together for a one-night single-elimination tournament to crown the best of the best. This year, the field includes Ring Of Honor star Alex Payne and Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare, as well as NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella and NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, just to name a few.

But the heavyweights of the wrestling world will not get the night off either, as they will all be competing in a Big Man Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal. The winner doesn't get a trophy, but instead gets the opportunity to wrestle, later that night, former WWE behemoth "The Ugandan Headhunter" Kamala, with former WWE & WCW star "America's Hero" The Patriot as special guest referee. All this and more. Tickets are only $18 for adults and $16 for kids and seniors.

Saturday night May 15th, NWS returns to Flemington, NJ's American Legion Hall (41 State Route 31, just off U.S. Route 202, immediately north of the Flemington Circle), with a 7:35pm bell time.

Headlining this great event will be a pair of former TV wrestling stars in the former WWE behemoth "The Ugandan Headhunter" Kamala and The Famous TV Wrestling Clown. There will also be a Triple-Threat Match among three of the top stars on the wrestling circuit, as Ring of Honor star Alex Payne, "Hurricane" John Walters, and "Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews all look to make a name for themselves.
Also on the bill will be the 2010 J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament winners and undefeated 800+ pound behemoths The Nigerian Nightmares (Maifu & Saifu), and much more. Tickets are only $18 for adults and $16 for kids & seniors.

Tickets for all shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704.
All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
