National Wrestling Superstars: NWS Results from Stirling, NJ 6/11

National Wrestling Superstars made its debut at the Long Hill Township Community Center in Stirling, NJ on Friday night June 11th. Although not a complete sellout, the crowd was good enough, and certainly energetic enough, and the wrestling action was certainly hot enough, that even before show was over, the sponsors promised to bring NWS back soon, and more often.

Before the opening match, the WWE's original diva Sunny was introduced as the acting co-Commissioner for the evening. Sunny greeted the fans and promised she would keep order in the ring and punish cheaters. Before she could continue, out came former WWE bad boy Salvatore Sincere. Sal claimed that Sunny had secretly been after him when they were both in the WWE, and the look of disgust on Sunny's face made it clear what she thought of those allegations. Sal's insulting banter was interrupted by the appearance of another former WWE TV superstar, "The Big Val-bowski" Val Venis. Val also claimed that Sunny had had the hots for him back in the WWE, and apologized for not taking her up on her attraction. Sunny actually cracked a subtle smile and Sal took offense, and the two looked like they were going to start a fight, when Commissioner Moore announced that Sal and Val would fight in the main event later that night, and the winner would get to go home with Sunny.

In the opening contest, The Jock Mafia (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) defeated "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie & "Too Hot" Steve Scott. The fans were thrilled by the high-flying and hard-hitting abilities of all four wrestlers, but the number-one tag-team contenders Dennis & D'Andrea outlasted their opponents, and got the win after a pair of flying splashes.

In a tag-team grudge match, The Lone Rangers (Jay Silva & former WWE developmental star Pat "The Buck Stops Here" Buck, with former WWE hall of fame legend The Iron Sheik in their cormer) defeated "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto & 2010 J-Cup winner "Hurricane" John Walters. This was another heavy-hitting tag-team match, with the experience factor favoring Demanto and Walters, but having The Iron Sheik in their corner gave a boost to Silva and Buck. When Demanto tried to slap on his own version of The Camel Clutch midway through the match, The Sheik took extreme offense at his patented move being used, and broke it up with a cane shot to Demanto. The match actually ended with Walters hitting Buck with a chain that Demanto threw to him while distracting the referee, and Walters getting the pinfall. But The Sheik seized the chain and showed it to Acting Co-Commissioner Sunny, who immediately reversed the decision and awarded the match to The Lone Rangers.

In a three-on-two handicap tag-team match, The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu, with manager Voodoo Princess Sheeta) crushed the team of The Soul Assassin & The Illgal Outer Space Alien & "The White Urkel" B. Fehrm, who were managed by Goop The Hardware Man. This was hardly a match, as The Nightmares had their way with all three of their opponents, tossing them around the ring like rag dolls before crushing The Alien and Fehrm with simultaneous Vader-bombs and pinning them. When Security tried to remove The Nightmares after the match, The Nightmares attacked them too and left them laying inside and outside the ring.

In a three-way elimination battle of champions, NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela (with Goop The Hardware Man in his corner) emerged victorious over Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc and Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans. The match started out with Havoc and Oceans determined to double-team Janela, but they could not agree on who would get to pin and eliminate Janela, and this disagreement would keep Janela in the match. After Oceans leveled Janela with his Boom-Boom-Pow finisher, it looked like Janela's night would end early, but Havoc again would not let Oceans get a pinfall before him, and attacked Oceans, putting him down with an Attitude Adjuster and pinning Oceans 1-2-3 to eliminate him. Havoc then left the ring and went after Goop on the outside, but Joey snuck up and smashed Havoc with a "Wet Floor" sign. Goop rolled the semi-conscious Havoc into the ring and Joey finished him off with a somersault splash and the 1-2-3 pin for the victory.

In the main event, former WWE star Val Venis defeated fellow WWE alumnus Salvatore Sincere in a battle for the original WWE diva Sunny's affections. Sunny herself proclaimed that having known both opponents for years, she did not trust either of them, and called upon former WWE hall of famer The Iron Sheik to be her bodyguard for the match, and he gladly accepted. Before the actual match started, Sunny called for Val and Sal to impress her with a pose-down. Both men sported impressive physiques, and Sunny was equally impressed, but Sal attacked Val from behind at the end of his posing, and the match was on. The two WWE veterans battled inside and outside the ring, with hard shots by both men. Towards the end, Val battled back and put down Sal with a neckbreaker, but Sal countered with a low blow and a lariat. It looked like Sal had the match won, but instead of going for the pin, he turned his attention towards Sunny who had jumped up on the ring apron. Sal tried to kiss Sunny and it looked like she was going to oblige, when Val sneaked up and rolled up Sal from behind and pinned him 1-2-3. Val took Sunny by the hand and was ready to claim his prize, but then Sunny hit a knee to Val's "nether region", and as he rolled on the floor in pain, Sunny claimed that she had no interest in either man, and announced she was going home with the only real man in the building, The Iron Sheik, and left ringside arm in arm with The Sheik as the night ended.
